Pfizer Inc. [NYSE: PFE]
Pfizer and BioNTech have today announced that they have submitted COVID-19 vaccine testing data to the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as the company hopes to get approval for use on children 5-11 years old.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the companies said the vaccine “demonstrated a favorable safety profile and elicited robust neutralizing antibody responses using a two-dose regimen” from the trial on Sept. 20, which included 2,268 young participants.
Pfizer stocks closed Monday’s trading session at $43.57 per share and pre-market hours showed the stock’s price rise but were down 0.99% at $43.15.
Acceleron Pharma [NASDAQ: XLRN]
Shares of American multinational pharmaceutical company Merck Inc were up 0.014% in pre-market while those of Acceleron gained 2.6% after reports emerged that Merck is in advanced talks to buy Acceleron.
Acceleron is valued at just under $11 billion after a sharp rise of more than 37% since Sept. 16. Merck's market cap is just over $186 billion; at last report, it had $8.6 billion in cash and $24 billion in long-term debt.
Acceleron Pharma shares have been one of the top gainers over the month of September for wall street investors giving investors a return of 34.73% in terms of year performance.
Spotify Technologies Inc [NYSE: SPOT]
Spotify has today kicked off a global campaign designed to boost its advertising sales. Spotify which is known for its music streaming service said the new campaign is aimed at small- and medium-sized businesses beyond what's been its traditional focus.
Despite the news, Spotify shares are down by 1.9% in the pre-market but have been on a steady regain and could open trading at $232.94 per share at market open.
Netflix Inc. [NASDAQ: NFLX]
Netflix's dystopian Korean thriller series Squid Game has "a very good chance" of becoming Netflix's most popular show yet, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said Monday.
Netflix which is currently battling the live streaming space with other companies such as Home Box Office [HBO], Amazon Prime and Disney+ seem to be getting something right about binging and consumers are once again back to Netflix.
